This is the first official blog-post of ThirstyVIP.com thanks for reading!
We’ve been a couple years of blood, sweat and tears. Trying to add value to the social nightlife space, we’ve been nearly complete for a year, but slow-roll to release our product until we had everything fully-functional.
We have our website (you are reading this from) where you can login to see where your friends are checking-in, and our mobile apps available on iOS and Android. They were officially available last week in fact!!!!!
The ThirstyVIP members and development team had been testing for sometime, and we were sooo stoked to bring it to market!
We were rejected upon our first two submissions to Apple.
The first time, we were rejected for not properly rating our app (for mature audiences of 18 & over only), while the second time we had a copyright issue with a Google Maps page, among the many we integrated within our ThirstyVIP app.
So. Third time is a CHARM, right? Well, not exactly…. We were accepted by Apple to the iOS platform, as with Androids….
Our team was excited!!!! We really were kind of in shock, since we had all been waiting so long. So what did we do??? Shamelessly promoted on our facebook profiles of course! We just wanted to see how it could grow amongst our friends, so we put out the word.
Guess what happened?!? Yup, our app didn’t work…. All that time, all the testing, all the sacrifices made, felt so bittersweet at the moment. We had been pushing our friends to try it, and we were getting text, facebook and email messages about how our friends were having problems….
It was upsetting, but since our entire development team, and all the members of the company had it working on their phone flawlessly, I was a bit confused.
The problem was actually happening before the user signed-in, because none of our users could sign-in, literally. We were having troubles with facebook that left users sitting at our opening app screen waiting to load for dayyyys.
So after a “soft” launch and perhaps even more importantly, a ‘Failure to Launch’ we had to keep you informed and updated on the situation.
We look forward to sharing our new found excitement once we are back in the store and live!
Thanks for your patience and support!
Stay Thirsty
